A capacitive proximity sensor works with a high frequency oscillating circuit that creates an electromagnetic field on the active sensor surface by means of a capacitor. When a substantial or fluid substance nears this field a capacitance unbalance occurs and leads to a variation of the amplification in the oscillating circuit. Often referred to as slot sensors, they operate as through beam sensors, but with the transmitter, receiver and all the electronics in one robust metal casing for quick and simple installation. This means that there is no need for complex mounting brackets or mechanical adjustment. Very small parts can be very precisely positioned and very fast movements reliably detected, thanks to the high switching frequency, the short response time and the high resolution.
Our Frame Light Barriers and Ring Light Barriers are the optimal solution for detecting metallic or non-metallic parts. A number of photocells form a light curtain (light frame light barriers corridor) detect parts as small as 0.7 mm. Typical applications of Light Barriers include counting very small parts, the length measurement of parts at a constant feed speed and checking for the ejection of parts to protect tools on presses and punches. Coaxial lights for machine vision systems couple light in from the side by means of a semitransparent mirror into the optical path of the vision system. The test object is transmitting thereflected light through the mirror back to the vision system.
The light generated by a coaxial lighting is ideal for reflecting, metallic or shiny objects, like the detection of Data matrix codes on metal parts as well as for inspection of circuit boards, silicon wafers and reflecting adhesives.

Optical label sensors OGU … and OGUTI …are characterised by a high operating frequency, a short response time and a high resolution. For special applications we are offering versions with reduced fork height, for assembly directly on the dispenser edge, as well as sensors with long forks for the detection of large labels.
Capacitive label sensors enable the detection of all types of labels including metallic ones and provide high switching frquencies. The auto teach in function allows for quick setup and means you can change during the operation. There is also the option to use remote teach in. The sensors include temperature and humidity compensation and the separable casing allows for quick and easy cleaning.

This temperature sensor which can be exchanged during operation so there's no need to stop the process. TN-type temperature sensors are inserted into containers or pipes via a special stainless steel AISI 316Ti screw-in socket which allows users to remove and exchange them without leaking or polluting the process liquid. Featuring a separate control unit with a digital display, the temperature meter can be easily programmed via three buttons. Users can program two fixed switching points. Additional freely programmable functions include hysteresis,
temperature windows, and on/off delay.
The compact models TN 552 GPP and TN 552/1 GPP have two independent adjustable switching points. The compact models TN 552 GAPP and TN 552/1 GAPP have one independent adjustable switching point and one scalable 4...20 mA analog output.
The detecting range for fluids is from -40 °C to +120 °C, the tolerance is 0.3 °C (0...80 °C).
These high performance Pressure Sensors are suited for measurements in in pipes and containers.However, the high accuracy of our Pressure Sensors capacitive ceramic gauge head makes it an effective fill level monitor as well.
Our Pressure Sensors can record fill levels with an accuracy of one centimeter in containers that stand five meters tall. Measurement instruments with a 1000 mbar measurement range have proven to be very useful for these types of applications. When measuring the fill level of water, 10 mbar of pressure corresponds to 10 cm water height. The instrument displays the pressure value digitally.
The fill level measurement is not effected by foam on the liquid's surface. Suspended matter inside the container will not effect the measurement either - as long as the matter does not disturb the pressure distribution in the area surrounding the sensor membrane. The Pressure Sensor is a compact device that contains all the measurement and evaluation electronics. It is designed for use with 24 V DC. In addition to many programmable features, it also provides two PNP switch outputs and a 4 to 20 mA current output. Additionally we offer a model with 2 switching points and a rapid programming feature which can be used, for example, for minimum and maximum detection in a container. A model with one analog output only is also availble.
The Pressure Sensors are designed to be screwed into the wall of a pressure container or a pipe. The medium contacts the sensor's ceramic gauge head directly. A pressure mediating fluid is not used. The dry capacitive gauge head provides a high level of overload stability. The medium pressure will cause the measurement membrane to deflect by a maximum of 0.03 mm. At maximum deflection, the membrane lies against the ceramic carrier, thereby enabling an instrument designed for a pressure range of 0 to 16 bar to withstand an overload or pressure spike of up to 64 bar without being damaged. When the overload passes, the membrane returns to its neutral position without exhibiting any hysteresis.

Deflection of the membrane against the ceramic carrier effects a capacity change that the integrated microprocessor-controlled evaluating electronics convert into a pressure-proportional DC signal of 4 to 20 mA. The measurement value is displayed on the four-digit LED display, whereby all values canbe freely scaled to four digits with up to three decimal places. The signal can be processed internally with buffering of up to 30 seconds, thereby making it possible to diminish pressure spikes in pipes.
Three buttons and a four-digit LED display enable the user to calibrate the sensor measurement range and to program the PNP switch outputs, and the buffering. Only a few button combinations are required to rapidly complete configuration. Both integrated PNP switch outputs are freely programmable, allowing the user to adjust the limit value, hysteresis, and functionality type (normally closed or normally open) as needed. A LED signals the switching condition of the PNP switch outputs. The programmed data is stored in an EEPROM, providing security even in the event of power failure.
The sensors DN 752 GPP and DN 752 GA have a three-digit LED display and they allow a fast and easy programming for either two switchpoints or one analog output.
The Pressure Sensor membrane must be resistant to the medium in which the sensor will be used. A fluoroelastomer (FPM) gasket is standard equipment.

Approval for safety applications
Sensors for personal security must have a qualifification approval according to EN 954-1 and must be labeled accordingly. Sensors that are not labeled must not be used for applications of this kind.

The Metron 2 is a single box telemetry solution with four inputs (each with its own power supply for the sensor) and two contact outputs. It is intended to simplify the process of choosing, setting up and operating a telemetry system. It has a large LCD screen that allows it to be setup and commissioned extremely easily using a logical menu system. It logs data and sends wirelessly, it sends alarms and it displays the readings on the screen. It can be powered by it's own internal battery or an external power source.
The integral display on the Metron2 makes it easy to test the telemetry unit and the sensors that are connected to it. The display is visible without opening the unit meaning it can replace a local gauge - for example if the unit is being used for tank level monitoring the tanker driver can view the readings.
You can use the Metron2 as a remote level gauge. The telemetry device will interface to a range of level sensors, providing them with power. As well as being able to display the level readings locally, it can send the readings wirelessly to your mobile phone or to a computer.
The Metron2 can talk wirelessly using the globally adopted GSM mobile phone network, utilising both gprs and sms to suit the application. The Metron ATEX is a high quality but affordable telemetry device well suited to LPG tank level montoring, giving high reliability and low running costs. It has a long battery life and can monitor up to 6 tanks on one site, giving lower costs.

Metron VIEW data collection service for M2M and telemetry applications is available as a hosted service and is primarily used in conjunction with our Metron2 and Metron ATEX M2M and telemetry devices. Metron VIEW can be used to remotely configure certain devices.
The Metrons send the readings over the mobile phone network to our server and users can view and export their data using a simple web page browser. It incorporates an API so 3rd party systems can be used to retrieve the data or we can develop some customised web sites to give you the reporting you need.
